"Fillings"

On Red Hot + Bothered: The Indie Rock Guide to Dating, Red Hot & Blue, 1995)

Nopalitos

Album, Simple Machines/Teen Beat, 1994

Grenadine turns musical corners on this second full-length. Reaching back into the 1920s for inspiration, they present a pleasing show of tap dancing, barbershop harmonizing, joke-telling, coconut-welding pop. Recorded by Warren Defever (His Name is Alive).

Christiansen

EP, Simple Machines/Teen Beat, 1994

3-song 7" brings Grenadine from the 1920s into the 1980s. On the a-side, drummer Rob wends a woeful tale, while crooners Jenny and Mark spice up the b-side with album remixes and a touch of industrial noise, courtesy of mixmaster Warren Defever.

"Don't Forget the Halo" / "777"

Single, Simple Machines/Teen Beat, 1993

Grenadine's second 7" release is another pop treasure from Jenny, Mark and Rob. "Make me out an angel in the snow. Don't forget the halo." Translucent red plastic sleeve and clear vinyl 7"s.

Triology Version 1

EP, Simple Machines/Teen Beat, 1992 (out of print)

The debut 7" from DC's pop supergroup Grenadine. On "Fillings", Jenny makes the incredible lyrical connection between love and a visit to the dentist, while Mark drenches the song in 12-string pop strumming. With maroon vinyl 7"s in handmade sleeves and wrapped in flock wallpaper, these singles disappeared quickly after their release in 1992.
